For they shall be filled.

Basic Facts About God’s Righteousness

  • God is righteous with His own righteousness
  • God requires the same righteousness of us that He has of Himself
  • God requires the same righteousness of us, but we don’t have it
  • He supplies the righteousness that we need

Two Parts of God’s Gift of Righteousness

Justification
– A declaration made by God about you based on your faith in Christ’s death on the cross in your place
– Imputed righteousness
Sanctification
– God’s real righteousness given to us so that we are made free to live righteously with God’s righteousness
– Imparted righteousness
