I Go To Prepare A Place For You – John 14:1-3
Many and varied are the troubles that agitate the human heart and mind. Jesus has an effective remedy for them all. The one He offers in John 14:1-3 is a personal place prepared in heaven. Our goal this morning is to firm up our faith in His provision. Sermon by Al Gordon from the 14th of August, 2016
Let no day pass by without reading some portion of the sacred Scriptures, at such convenient hour as offers, and give some space to meditation. Never cast off the habit of reading the Holy Scriptures; for nothing feeds the soul and enriches the mind so well as those sacred studies.
Theonas of Alexandria (335-405 AD)
Would you know my name – if I saw you in heaven? Would you be the same – if I saw you in heaven?
Eric Clapton (b. 1945)
If I find a desire within myself that no experience in this world can satisfy, the most probable explanation is that I was made for another world.
C.S. Lewis (1898-1963)
I have come down from heaven.
Jesus (John 6:38)
Worrying always ends in sin. Worry and anxiety are not an indication of how wise but how wicked we are. Worry springs from a determination to get our own way. Jesus was never out to realize His own ideas but to have His Father realize His ideas.
Oswald Chambers (1874-1917)
And I heard a loud voice from heaven saying, “Behold, the tabernacle of God is with men, and He will dwell with them, and they shall be His people. God Himself will be with them and be their God. And God will wipe away every tear from their eyes; there shall be no more death, nor sorrow, nor crying. There shall be no more pain, for the former things have passed away.
Jesus will end history. He will return from heaven to earth. His return will be glorious, public, sudden, and visible.
